Somali President drops request to extend term, kneeling to pressure the parliament.
This happened after clashes in Mogadishu and political pressure.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed promises to appear before parliament to debate the extension proposal.
He bows not to extend the term by two years due to domestic and international pressure caused by the clashes and spilt of security forces along clan lines.
Last week, the Opposition forces abandoned in the country side. They headed for showdown in the Capital calling for Alshabab to take over the town.
The United Nations, African Union, United States and and other organise warned against the “emerging fragmentation ” of Somali army along clan line.
Mohamed being a Darod, one of the main clans, majority of the opposition leaders are Hawiye which is one of the large clans in Somalia.
Before his speech on Wednesday, prime minister Mohamed Hussein Robe had criticised the proposed term extension and cheered for a new.
presidential election.

Earlier this month, the lower house of parliament voted to extend his four years by two years. However, the Senate rejected their proposal provoking a political crisis.
In his statement on television, Mohamed known as Farmaajo committed to the prime minister and political leaders.
He agrees with them on the statement they issued calling for elections to be held with out delay. He also called for argent discussion with agreements signed last September on the conduct of the vote.
He promises to appear in the parliament on Saturday” to gain their endorsement for electoral process that was agreed upon.
The opposition on the other hand, which demanded the president to resign had not responded yet.
The president either did not discuss about the opposition in his televised speech.
Mohamed’s two reliable allies. The two heads of two regional state were also not in support with the two year’s extension of his term.
Some Somali fled to the near by neighbouring countries in fear of war since it is rebuilding it’s self after a long civil war.
President Mohammed is the 9th President since 1960.
