Due to the raising cases of covid – 19 cases in the country for the second phase. Today the president of the republic of Uganda came out and gave guidelines to follow.
The doctors say, with an increasing rate that has stretched public facilities to the maximum, experts say the situation can only get worse.
The following have been the guidelines given by the president in his speech from the state house.
1-All schools should close effective from 7th June for 42days.
2- All teachers must vaccinate before reporting back to school after those 42 days.
3- All communal prayers, churches, mosques, etc are equally suspended for 42days.
4- All public gatherings are hereby suspended for 42 days except cabinet meetings.
5-Agricultural activities not affected. Factory, construction, shopping malls, supermarkets to continue while observing SOPs.
6-Taxi parks, Markets can operate under guidelines of observing SOPs.
7- Weddings, and funerals only allowed with the maximum limit of 20people.
8-Mibuulo & cattle markets suspended for 42 days.
9-Outside parties suspended
10- All public transport from district to district suspended from the 10th of June for 42days.
11-All inter-district travel from Kampala to Masaka or Mbarara for example is suspended for 42 days except for cargo trucks.
12- Public transport in Kampala still functional under observation.
13- Bars, discos, cinemas remain closed.
14- Sports activities to continue but without spectators.
15- Trucks to carry only two people.
16- Institutions to have persons dedicated to compliance.
17- Private vehicles to have a maximum of 3 people. No inter-district movements though for 14days.
18- Ambulances and security vehicles to operate normally.
19- All hardware and supermarkets to close at 19:00. Except for pharmacies which are allowed to open until 21:00
20- Saloon and lodges are allowed to operate until 7pm and lodges should not be selling alcohol.
21-Bodaboda allowed carrying goods or one passenger up to 19:00 for the next 42 days.
22- Unlike the previous lockdown, Violations of the above, shall this time call for a fine. No more arresting to crowd the prisons.
23- All the above directives except where it is stated otherwise, take immediate effect.
However, there will be more guidelines to help out in reducing the spread of the virus.
